Ok a cheesy heading (!) but I’m sure we all agree that weeks of dark mornings and evenings impact on our health and wellbeing.
If this proposal to not alter the clocks in autumn but put them forward in the spring really does have merit and will help us feel more positive – and therefore adopt healthier habits – then let’s hope that the corridors of power react accordingly.
It does sound eminently sensible that an extra 300 additional hours of daylight for adults each year – and 200 more hours for children – would result in a considerable increase in opportunities for outdoor leisure activities and less time to sit on the sofa comfort-eating.
Let’s hope our MP’s see the light in the dark days ahead!
